Russian occupiers strike Sumy city centre with drone

Today, Russian forces carried out a targeted attack using a drone on civilian infrastructure in the city of Sumy.

The enemy UAV hit a busy intersection in the Zarichnyi district, injuring civilians and damaging vehicles.

According to updated information from the State Emergency Service, four civilians sustained injuries of varying severity. The head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Serhii Kryvosheienko, specified that among the injured were one woman and two men, all of whom are receiving necessary medical care. The strike occurred in an area with heavy traffic at the time, where people and private cars were present.

The blast and debris damaged at least five vehicles and a two-story residential building near the point of impact.

“Today, the Russians carried out a targeted strike on the Sumy community. The drone hit the Zarichnyi district — civilian cars were affected,” said Oleg Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

The attack also caused technical damage to the overhead contact network, forcing local authorities to adjust public transport operations. Currently, traffic toward the airport is temporarily restricted, and utility services are working to clear the consequences of the strike.

It is recalled that Russian forces recently attacked the residential sector of Zaporizhzhia, causing destruction and injuries. They also targeted four Ukrposhta branches, injuring employees.
