Russian invaders attacked the Izyum community, causing a fire

Late in the evening on August 18, Russian terrorist forces launched several attacks on the Izyum community in the Kharkiv region. Power outages and fires were reported, and residents in one of the districts were left without electricity.
 


“Today, August 18, at approximately 10:07 p.m., Russian forces launched four strikes with guided aerial bombs (GAB) on the territory of the Izyum City Territorial Community. According to preliminary information, at one of the sites where the guided aerial bombs struck, dry grass caught fire in an open area,” reads a post by the Izyum City Council on Telegram.

The shelling also caused an emergency power outage. Customers in the Veprytskyi Khutir area were temporarily left without power.

As of this moment, no reports regarding casualties or injuries have been received by healthcare facilities, the Municipal Administration adds. 

As a reminder, on August 18 in Kramatorsk, a Russian “Shahed” struck a modular shelter. The protective structure sustained significant damage from the direct hit.

On August 18, 2026, jet-powered drones were detected for the first time in western Ukraine. They traveled approximately 900 km from their launch site.

On the morning of August 18, Russia launched 76 jet-powered drones toward Ukraine.
