A Russian drone struck a high-rise building in Dnipro
At around 10 a.m., the Russian Armed Forces launched an attack on Dnipro using unmanned aerial vehicles.
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of this latest act of aggression on his Telegram channel.
One of the enemy drones struck a 14-story residential building directly, causing significant damage and a fire.
According to him, the strike hit the upper part of the building, where the most damage was recorded.
“In the 14-story building, walls, balconies, windows, and the mechanical floor were damaged. Fires broke out on the top two floors,” the official noted, describing the extent of the damage in the city’s residential sector.
Units of the State Emergency Service promptly began work at the scene. Rescuers focused their efforts on containing the fire, which engulfed the top two floors of the high-rise after the drone’s warhead exploded.
As of 10:43 a.m., there were no official reports of fatalities or injuries among the building’s residents.
Specialists continue to inspect the damaged apartments and utility rooms to ensure no one is trapped under the rubble.
The strike caused significant damage to the building’s facade.
Utility services are preparing to carry out urgent emergency repairs to stabilize the damaged high-rise.
Military officials note that the attack occurred at a time when most residents were likely at home or getting ready for work.
As a reminder, Russian forces carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using strike drones and cruise missiles.
In Znamianka, 20 buildings were damaged following a drone attack.
