Journalists have identified the names of more than 212,000 Russian soldiers killed in action

Journalists have identified the names of 212,188 Russian soldiers who have died since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona.

It is noted that in the last two weeks alone, more than 4,600 names have been added to the list.

According to investigators, 57% of the dead are volunteers, conscripts, and prisoners who had no prior connection to the military before the war.

Among the confirmed casualties are 77,846 volunteers, 41,937 contract soldiers, 23,710 prisoners, 18,479 conscripts, and 2,900 members of private military companies. More than 47,000 of the dead could not be classified into a specific category.

The deaths of 7,106 officers, including 15 generals, have also been confirmed.

Since October 2024, the average number of confirmed casualties has been approximately 120 people per day.

The highest losses were recorded in Bashkortostan and Tatarstan.

At the same time, the authors of the investigation note that the actual number of deaths could range from 326,000 to 471,000.

On the front lines, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers killed Yuriy Hrytsenko, known as the “Zelenograd maniac.” After serving his sentence, he joined the war against Ukraine.

On April 14, Russian troops struck the Pechenizke Reservoir in the Kharkiv region with guided aerial bombs.
