A Russian drone struck the locomotive of the Sumy–Kyiv train

A Russian drone struck the locomotive of a train traveling from Sumy to Kyiv. Passengers were evacuated in time, so there were no casualties.

The company noted that Russian troops had once again attacked civilian transport in the Sumy region.

“The enemy has once again criminally attacked civilian transport in the Sumy region. A UAV struck the locomotive of the Sumy–Kyiv train,” the statement reads.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, a monitoring team detected the threat in time. The train crew and locomotive crew then evacuated the passengers to a safe distance.

No one was injured as a result of the attack, but one train car was damaged.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that specialists are currently working to minimize disruptions to the train schedule on this section of the line.

The company urged passengers to stay updated on the latest information regarding train schedules.

On the night of August 8, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with six Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles, and 151 attack drones. 

In Mykolaiv on August 7, a civilian vessel in the port was damaged as a result of an attack by Russian drones. No one was injured.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 978 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Three civilians were killed and four others were wounded as a result of the attacks.

The day before, Russian forces attacked the grounds of a hospital in central Kherson with a drone. Four female medical workers were injured; all suffered blast injuries and concussions.

On the night of July 19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.

Throughout the day on July 17, Russian forces carried out strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were injured as a result of the shelling; among the injured were five children.
