Separatist Gubarev claimed that Russia could have allegedly taken Kyiv in 2014

Pavel Gubarev, a former leader of the “DPR” group and a separatist, claimed that in 2014 Russia could allegedly have captured Kyiv “without resistance.”

He said this in an interview with Russian media.

According to him, had a full-scale invasion begun back then, Russian troops could have captured “as much of Ukraine as they could hold.”

Gubarev also claims that Ukrainians would have allegedly “welcomed them with flowers,” and resistance would have been minimal.

He added that, in his opinion, Russia could have gained the support of the population “without the use of force.”

At the same time, in Russia, Gubarev himself is suspected of discrediting the army—relevant information appeared in the database of a Moscow court.

He himself called this “nonsense” and suggested that his public statements were the reason.

In addition, particularly high activity by Russian troops has been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

In the Kharkiv sector of the conflict, Ukrainian troops spotted a Russian all-terrain ground robotic complex, the “Chelnok.”
