Sybiga called the attack on the SBU a serious escalation

Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the Russian strike on the SBU building in Kyiv constitutes a serious escalation and requires a decisive international response.

According to him, the attack took place amid ongoing efforts to achieve peace and once again demonstrated Moscow’s true attitude toward diplomacy.

Sybiga also emphasized that the strike has put Ukraine’s cultural heritage at risk. St. Sophia Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located near the site of the attack.

The foreign minister called on international partners to condemn the Russian attack and increase pressure on Russia. Separately, he appealed to UNESCO to step up efforts to protect Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
