Defense forces eliminated a Russian candidate for the title of Master of Sports in wrestling
The Ukrainian Defense Forces killed Russian serviceman Valery Badmazhapov, who, prior to participating in the war against Ukraine, practiced freestyle wrestling and held the title of Candidate for Master of Sports.
According to Glavkom, Badmazhapov was born on July 7, 2003, in the village of Verkhniy Ichotuy in the Dzhidinsky District of the Republic of Buryatia (Russian Federation). Before joining the army, he was a professional freestyle wrestler.
In September 2024, Badmazhapov signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and was deployed to the war against Ukraine. He served as part of the Russian Army’s 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade.
According to available information, the occupier was killed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on April 19, 2025.
A funeral service for the Russian soldier was held on July 8, 2026.
