Defense forces repelled a major Russian assault in the Sloviansk area
Ukrainian forces repelled one of the Russian army’s largest assaults in the Sloviansk sector. The occupiers deployed dozens of infantrymen, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, cars, and motorcycles for the attack, but none of the assault groups managed to reach the first line of defense. This was reported by the Apachi Unmanned Systems Battalion.
Fighters from the Apachi Unmanned Systems Battalion, together with other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, repelled one of the Russian army’s largest mechanized assaults in the Sloviansk sector. According to the battalion, the occupiers simultaneously deployed two assault groups along different routes. One moved from the Platonivka area toward Zakytne, while the other advanced from Siversk toward Kryva Luka.
About 50 Russian soldiers took part in the assault. A significant amount of military equipment was also deployed for the attack. Specifically, the Russians used 28 motorcycles, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, and five vehicles. The Apachi Battalion notes that the strategy of a massive attack did not yield results. “The quantity of equipment could not compensate for the most important factor—the Ukrainian drone operators’ complete control over the battlefield,” the military emphasized.
According to them, neither of the two enemy groups was able to complete its assigned mission. The Russian units did not even reach the first line of Ukrainian defense. The battalion emphasizes that this battle served as yet another confirmation of how crucial a role technology and coordination between different units play in modern warfare. “This battle demonstrates once again that modern warfare is a war of technology, rapid decision-making, and precise coordination between units,” the Apachi battalion noted.
The military added that the Russian army continues to rely on massed forces and large assault groups, but Ukrainian defenders are responding with precision strikes and the effective use of drones. “Where the enemy relies on massed forces, Ukrainian defenders respond with precision, coordination, and effective drone operations,” the battalion emphasized.
The unit also released footage of the battle showing Ukrainian drone operators in action and Russian equipment being destroyed. The Sloviansk sector remains one of the most critical in the Donetsk region. Russian troops regularly attempt to improve their positions and carry out assault operations, using both armored vehicles and small mobile groups.
However, thanks to the work of Ukrainian drones and coordination among units, the Defense Forces continue to repel the enemy’s offensive attempts and prevent them from advancing. The military reported this on Telegram and released a video of the battle.
