Ukraine’s Defense Forces Destroy 111 Enemy Drones During Overnight Attack
On the night of February 24, Russian occupying forces launched a massive strike against Ukraine, using ballistic weapons and more than a hundred drones of various types.
The main удар targeted the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country, but most aerial threats were successfully neutralized by Ukrainian air defenders.
According to official data from the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea.
In addition to the missile, Russian forces deployed 133 strike UAVs, including Shahed-136 drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other models.
Air defense operations involved anti-aircraft missile units, aviation, electronic warfare (EW) units, and mobile fire groups. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, 111 enemy drones had been destroyed or suppressed by the morning.
Despite the effective work of air defenses, one ballistic missile and 19 strike drones hit targets across 16 different locations. The Air Force also reported debris from intercepted targets falling in one area, causing some damage.
Earlier, in the city of Orikhiv, a 77-year-old man was killed as a result of Russian shelling.
In addition, Russia attacked a village in the Kharkiv region with a drone, injuring five people.
