Defense forces have already destroyed 131 Russian heavy flamethrower systems

Since the start of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian military has already destroyed 131 heavy flamethrower systems belonging to the Russian army.

These include various models of thermobaric rocket systems that the occupiers use to strike the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the destroyed equipment includes the TOS-1 “Buratino,” TOS-1A “Solntsepok,” TOS-2 “Tosochka,” and the latest TOS-3 “Dragon.”

These systems use thermobaric and incendiary munitions to engage personnel, fortifications, and light armored vehicles.

The TOS-1A “Solntsepyok” remains the most widely used system in the Russian Armed Forces, as it has a longer firing range than the base “Buratino” version. The Russian army also deploys the wheeled TOS-2 “Tosochka” with an automated fire control system and the new TOS-3 “Dragon” with an increased engagement range.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also announced that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is preparing new operations against Russia. During a meeting with SBU Director Oleksandr Poklad, the head of state heard a report on the agency’s plans and priorities for August and approved the corresponding measures.

On the night of August 4, 2026, drones attacked the distribution center of “Lenta,” one of Russia’s largest supermarket chains, in the Leningrad Oblast. The strike caused a fire at the facility, and operations at the goods receiving warehouse were temporarily suspended.
