Syrsky ordered an increase in supplies for troops in the Donetsk region
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi made a working visit to military units defending the front lines.
Following the inspection, the general issued urgent orders to provide the units with additional ammunition and other necessary logistical supplies.
Particular attention was paid to the Oleksandrivka sector, where the situation remains consistently tense due to constant assaults by Russian occupiers.
Over the past week, Ukrainian defenders repelled a total of 64 enemy attacks there, indicating the high intensity of combat operations.
The Commander-in-Chief outlined the geography of the fighting in detail, noting: “In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy is attacking in the areas of the settlements of Ternove, Oleksandrohrad, Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Andriivka–Klevtsove, Sichneve, and toward Sosnivka, Verbove, and Zlagoda.”
Defense forces continue to effectively contain the invaders’ pressure.
The Russian command has not abandoned its plans for a further offensive, despite significant losses in manpower and equipment.
Currently, the enemy is actively regrouping its forces, attempting to find weak spots in the Ukrainian defense to break through deeper into the territory.
Oleksandr Syrskyi revealed the enemy’s strategic intentions on this section of the front. According to him, the invaders’ goal is to capture more Ukrainian territory and create a so-called “buffer zone” on the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region.
During his trip, the Commander-in-Chief visited the Pokrovsk sector, where he worked with the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces.
He listened to a briefing from Corps Commander Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiychuk and unit commanders regarding the current operational situation.
As a reminder, Syrskyi held a meeting with airborne assault units regarding drones and training.
Syrskyi also strengthened defenses and logistics in the Donetsk region.
