Syzran Oil Refinery halted after strike by Ukrainian drones

The Syzran oil refinery, owned by the Russian state corporation Rosneft, has completely ceased operations following a precise strike by Ukrainian drones.

The shutdown of this critical fuel infrastructure facility was reported by Major Robert Brovdi, commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He emphasized that the strike represents another stage in the systematic reduction of Russia’s ability to supply its army with fuel and refined oil products.

According to Brovdi, the attack on the refinery was carried out on December 5 by operators of the 414th UAV Brigade “Ptakhy Madyara” in coordination with the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.

Strike drones were used to hit the target, successfully bypassing the Russian air defense system and reaching the industrial facility.

The drone strike caused significant damage to technological equipment, making it impossible for the refinery to continue operating.

Major Brovdi noted that the primary oil processing unit, a key component of any refinery, was particularly affected.

Due to the destruction of this part of the production cycle, repair work, according to Reuters, may take at least a month.

This means that Russia will temporarily lose part of its oil processing capacity, which will affect fuel supply logistics.

Recall that the Saratov region in Russia was also attacked by drones, causing explosions.

Additionally, drones targeted a refinery in Cheboksary.
