Russians attacked Dnipro; people are being evacuated from a high-rise building

On the evening of October 2, Russian troops attacked Dnipro. The strike caused a fire in an apartment building, and rescue workers began evacuating people from the upper floors. Information about the casualties was initially being verified.

 

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported the attack. According to him, Russian troops struck Dnipro, after which a fire broke out in an apartment building. “The enemy attacked Dnipro. A fire broke out in an apartment building. We are verifying information regarding the casualties,” Ganza wrote.

A rescue operation began immediately at the scene. Due to damage to the building, people on the upper floors required assistance from rescue workers. State Emergency Service personnel evacuated residents from the dangerous section of the building. Rescue workers, medical personnel, and other emergency services were on the scene. “A rescue operation is underway at the site of the enemy strike in Dnipro. Rescue workers are evacuating people from the upper floors of the damaged high-rise building. All emergency services are on the scene,” the head of the Regional Military Administration reported.

Details about the casualties later emerged. According to the Regional Military Administration, a 9-year-old girl was among them. Medical personnel provided on-site treatment to two adults and the child, while one other person was hospitalized.

The attacks that day affected more than just Dnipro. In total, Russian forces struck the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 30 times with drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. Damage to residential buildings, infrastructure, and civilian vehicles was reported in the region.

In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Marganetsk, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovsk came under attack. There, apartment buildings, private homes, infrastructure facilities, and a cargo truck were damaged. A fire also broke out. Separately, Russian troops attacked the Vasylkiv community in the Synelnykivsky district. A private home was damaged there.

Rescue and emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes. In Dnipro, the main focus was on a damaged high-rise building, where a fire broke out after the attack and people had to be evacuated from the upper floors. Information on the consequences of the attack may be updated. Regional authorities and emergency services are reporting new details regarding casualties, damage, and rescue operations. This was reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
