Aggressor state Russia strikes ship in Odesa port, one killed — Interia

Russian troops of the aggressor state Russia attacked a civilian cargo vessel flying the Liberian flag in one of Odesa’s ports, Ukraine. A sailor working in the engine department was killed and three other people were injured, Interia reports.

Crew evacuated

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, 13 crew members were safely evacuated from the vessel, including three injured people. The agency called the strike another deliberate Russian attack on civilian vessels and said that the merchant fleet and sailors working on Ukrainian sea routes remain under threat.

The previous Russian strike on a merchant vessel, according to the publication, occurred on September 17. At that time, a captain was killed after a vessel flying the Tanzanian flag was hit, while three other people were injured.

Strikes on Kyiv’s bridges

Russian attacks also affect Ukraine’s road infrastructure, including bridges. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a Shahed-type drone struck the Northern Bridge in Kyiv in the morning.

As The New York Times writes, five of Kyiv’s six bridges were closed due to Russian attacks. The UNIAN agency, citing experts and officials, reported that the main goal of strikes on bridges may be to complicate military transportation. Road closures also make commuting to work more difficult for some residents of the capital.
