The Ukrainian FP-9 ballistic missile, capable of reaching Moscow, will be ready this fall — Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine plans to acquire its own FP-9 ballistic missile as early as the fall of 2026. According to him, the new system will have a significantly greater range than the recently deployed FP-7.
This week, Ukraine used the FP-7 ballistic missile in combat for the first time; according to available data, its range is approximately 250 km.
Zelenskyy said he had appealed to the FP-9’s developer—Fire Point—to expedite the completion of work on the missile. According to him, the FP-9 should be ready this fall.
The FP-9’s stated range is up to 850–855 km, and its warhead weighs up to 800 kg. The missile is planned to be launched from a mobile ground-based launcher. Some of the system’s specifications remain undisclosed at this time.
