In June, 32 people were killed and another 325 were wounded in the Sumy region as a result of attacks by the Russian Federation

Throughout June 2026, Russian troops carried out more than 2,000 attacks on communities in the Sumy region, using aircraft, missiles, artillery, and drones. 

As a result of the shelling, 32 people were killed, including one child, and another 325 were wounded.

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, more than 2,000 attacks were recorded in the region during June, including:

  • 554 airstrikes;
  • 659 strikes by “Shahed,” “Lancet,” and “Molniya” drones;
  • 545 attacks by FPV drones;
  • nearly 250 artillery and mortar attacks;
  • 10 missile strikes.

As a result of the Russian attacks, 32 residents of the Sumy region were killed, including one child.

Another 325 people, including 34 children, sustained injuries of varying severity.

According to the Regional Military Administration, over the course of the month, Russian strikes damaged or destroyed:

  • 326 private homes;
  • 67 apartment buildings;
  • 20 educational institutions;
  • 3 medical facilities.

Oleg Grigorov reported that the region is continuing to install anti-drone nets over roads to improve the safety of civilian transportation.

In June, another 50 kilometers of roads were covered with these nets, bringing the total length of such sections to 458 kilometers.

At the same time, the evacuation of residents from dangerous border areas continues in the region.

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, 337 people, including eight children, were evacuated in June. Efforts to evacuate residents from high-risk areas are ongoing.

This was reported by Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

As a reminder, Russian occupiers attacked a combine harvester with a drone while it was working in a field near Novopetrivka in the Zaporizhzhia district. A 30-year-old man was injured in the strike, and the agricultural machinery was completely destroyed.

In addition, Russian troops launched a drone strike on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv, injuring three people. The enemy attack also damaged a car carrying civilians and a vehicle belonging to one of the city’s municipal utilities.

On July 3, Russian troops attacked the Sofiivska community in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. One person was killed in the strike, five others were injured, and a gas station was damaged.

Over the past day, Russian troops carried out a series of attacks on Mykolaiv and communities in Mykolaiv Oblast, killing one person and wounding seven others. Gas stations, businesses, warehouses, vehicles, and residential buildings were damaged.

On the night of July 3, Russian troops attacked a residential area in the city of Lozova with a strike drone. Six people, including three children, were injured in the attack, and rescue workers freed five residents from a cellar.

In addition, Russian troops carried out 880 strikes on 62 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. As a result of massive attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district, 11 people were wounded, including four children.

Over the past day, 273 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines. Ukrainian forces continue to repel the advance of Russian occupation forces, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of personnel, equipment, and military infrastructure.

On the night of July 3, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with two X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles and 105 strike and decoy drones. Air defense forces destroyed or neutralized 83 aerial targets.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops launched a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
