A general implicated in crimes in Bucha was killed in a bombing in Russia's Khabarovsk Krai

An explosion occurred at a military garrison in Russia's Khabarovsk Krai; according to Russian media reports, it may have been directed against Major General Azatbek Omurbekov.

This is reported by Russian media.

The incident occurred on April 28 in the village of Knyaze-Volkonskoye-1. According to preliminary information, the explosive device was placed in a mailbox on the landing of a military unit.

After the explosion, the garrison personnel were put on alert. Sources claim that the target may have been Azatbek Omurbekov, who has headed the 392nd District Training Center for Junior Specialists of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation since 2023. There is currently no information about his condition.

Russian authorities have not officially confirmed this information. It is reported that the incident was allegedly immediately classified.

Omurbekov is known as the former commander of the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which operated during the occupation of Bucha in 2022. According to Ukrainian and international investigations, the unit may be implicated in mass killings of civilians. Omurbekov himself is subject to sanctions by the U.S., the EU, and other countries.

Ukrainian law enforcement officials previously reported that over a thousand civilians were killed during the occupation of the Bucha district, and some of the crimes are linked to the unit under his command.

Official details of the explosion and its consequences remain unknown at this time.

Prior to this, Ukrainian forces eliminated a Russian occupier on the front lines who had previously been an amateur soccer player. The individual in question is Alexander Susin, who played for several Russian clubs and worked as a youth coach.

Near the village of Borova in the Kharkiv region, Kenyan citizen Nyambura Eric Mwangi, who was fighting on the Russian side, was killed. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate.
