Kherson Plans to Form a Volunteer Unit to Combat Drones
There is a need in Kherson to establish a volunteer unit within the local community that, among other things, could join the fight against Russian drones. This was stated by Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
According to him, the issue of establishing territorial defense—or at least a corresponding command center—was discussed during the recent visit by the Minister of Defense.
“The defense minister visited recently, and we raised the issue of establishing a territorial defense force—or at least a command center. After all, once such a command center is in place, we can use it as a base to form a volunteer unit from the Kherson local community,” Prokudin said.
If such a unit is established, its members will be able to receive the necessary personal protective equipment and weapons, specifically for shooting down Russian drones.

In Kherson, three people were injured when a KAB bomb struck a building.
Russian drones caused major fires in the Synelnykivskyi District of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. A food warehouse and a logistics company building caught fire, and rescue workers had to work on site all night. The fire was successfully extinguished.
