Video: Metro Hypermarket Damaged in Mykolaiv Following Russian Attack
On the evening of September 8, Russian troops launched an attack on Mykolaiv. The attack damaged the “Metro” hypermarket—windows were shattered and the roof was damaged.
Anatoliy, a local resident who lives near the hypermarket, told “Suspilne” reporters that he heard loud explosions during the attack. From the balcony of his apartment, he saw the store’s roof catch fire.
“From the tenth floor, I can see that the roof is breached—in one place and then in another. I think the inside burned down,” he said.
Another local resident, Ivan, also heard the explosions. He said he hadn’t yet seen the aftermath of the attack.
“Everyone was scared: people, children, students—of course. Everyone wants to live. Something exploded over there. A big, big greeting from under the ground to all the Russians—may they all end up there,” Ivan said.
It’s worth noting that “Mykolaivsky Vanek” was the first to report on the attack on “Metro.” He clarified that, in addition to strikes on port infrastructure, Russian troops carried out two strikes on the “Metro” hypermarket in Mykolaiv.

In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, a Russian attack drone struck a 16-story residential building. Information regarding possible casualties is currently being verified.
Since the evening of September 8, Russian troops have shelled four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times. The occupiers used drones in the attacks, and three people were injured as a result.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
