In the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian drone attacked a team of power utility workers
On the morning of September 9, a Russian drone attacked a crew of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo power workers who were on their way to restore power following shelling. No one was injured, but the vehicle sustained extensive damage.
On Wednesday morning, the Zaporizhzhia REM crew was traveling to one of the region’s communities, which had lost power the day before due to Russian shelling.
While on the road, the power workers’ vehicle was attacked by a Russian drone.
“This morning, a crew from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Electric Network was on its way to restore power to one of the communities that had been left without electricity the day before due to shelling by the invaders. On the way, the utility workers were attacked by an enemy UAV. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the vehicle sustained extensive damage as a result of the explosion,” said Andriy Stasevsky, head of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo.
According to him, the workers were not injured, but the company vehicle was damaged.
Stasevsky emphasized that this is the second targeted attack by Russian troops on power company workers since the beginning of September.
Despite the danger, emergency crews continue to respond to restore power to communities affected by Russian shelling.

On the night of September 8 and into the morning of September 9, Russian troops launched a massive strike on the Kyiv region. The districts of Bila Tserkva, Brovary, Boryspil, Fastiv, Obukhiv, and Bucha came under fire.
Over the past 24 hours, on September 8, Russian troops carried out 945 strikes on 46 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. One person was killed and seven others were wounded as a result of the attacks.
In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, a Russian attack drone struck a 16-story residential building. Information regarding possible casualties is currently being verified.
Since the evening of September 8, Russian troops have shelled four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times. The occupiers used drones in the attacks, and three people were injured as a result of the strikes.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
