More than 10 universities and colleges in Moscow were evacuated due to a series of bomb threats

On the morning of September 24 in Moscow, a mass evacuation of students and staff from at least 10 universities, colleges, and dormitories began following anonymous bomb threats. Police officers, K-9 units, and Russian National Guard personnel arrived at the scenes, and classes at many institutions were canceled or moved online.

The measures affected, in particular, the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology, GITIS, the State University of Education, the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics College, the College of Modern Technologies and Medicine, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. 

At some educational institutions, students were removed from the buildings without their personal belongings, while at others, academic buildings and dormitories were cordoned off to allow special services to conduct inspections.

In Ukraine, waves of hostile anonymous bomb threats occur periodically. Experts emphasize that such anonymous reports are more often information provocations or psychological pressure than a real threat. However, the police take every report as seriously as possible to minimize risks and prevent panic.

Law enforcement officials in Kyiv have completed their investigation and referred to court the case of a 52-year-old woman who falsely reported a bomb threat at the district police headquarters.
