The Kremlin commented on Putin's trip to the U.S. for the G20 summit

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has not yet made a final decision regarding his participation in the G20 summit, which is scheduled to take place in December in Miami, Florida. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

According to Peskov, Moscow views the invitation positively but is in no hurry to draw far-reaching conclusions. The final decision will depend on all relevant circumstances, although the Kremlin has not disclosed any specific factors. The spokesperson also added that Russia will, in any case, actively participate in the work of the G20.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Putin’s invitation to the G20 summit on September 23 during the UN General Assembly.

Earlier, the Kremlin responded to the proposal for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin at the G20.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy effectively proposed to the Kremlin leader that they hold a face-to-face meeting specifically during the Group of Twenty summit in December 2026.

Prior to this, the U.S. had invited Putin to the December G20 summit in Miami.
