Moscow has banned the publication of photos and videos showing the aftermath of drone attacks

The Moscow authorities have imposed a ban on the dissemination of photos and videos, as well as any information regarding the consequences of drone attacks, terrorist acts, and acts of sabotage. According to media reports, the restrictions apply to the media, emergency services, organizations, and citizens, and a system of fines has been established for violations.

The commission cites the “fight against fake news” as the reason for this decision. Under the new rules, publishing information about emergencies is permitted only if it has already been released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Moscow City Hall, or other official city government sources. The sole exception is non-public communications directly to law enforcement agencies.

Journalists and human rights activists point out the vagueness of the wording in the document. This allows virtually any information about incidents that has not received prior official confirmation to be interpreted as a violation.

A system of fines has been established for non-compliance with the ban. For private individuals, the penalty ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles; for officials, from 30,000 to 50,000 rubles; and for legal entities, the highest fines are imposed—from 50,000 to 200,000 rubles.

As a reminder, Russian Railways is selling a skyscraper in Moscow City due to debt.

Russian Railways plans to lay off about 6,000 employees due to its deteriorating financial condition and a decline in freight volumes.

Earlier, the Russian government ordered Russian Railways (RZD) to put the 62-story Moscow Towers complex, located in the Moscow City business center, up for sale.
