Moscow reported 600 drones; Russia launched missile strikes on Kyiv
On the night of August 16, the Moscow Region was the target of a massive drone attack. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a representative of the aggressor state’s government, three people were injured as a result.
Sobyanin stated that from the evening of August 15 until 6:30 a.m. on August 16, 600 drones were flying toward the Moscow Region. According to him, 201 drones were allegedly destroyed in the Moscow Region.
That same night, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Kyiv. The capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported fires in at least two districts of the city. He said that falling debris caused a fire in a non-residential area of Kyiv’s northern suburbs, where several cars also caught fire.

Another fire was reported in an area south of central Kyiv. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported one casualty. Reuters correspondents heard explosions in the city, France 24 reported.
France 24 noted that the attack on the Moscow region took place as Ukraine intensified its long-range strikes on Russian territory.
