Russia attacked Ukraine with 106 drones and missiles; air defense forces destroyed 88 targets
On the night of August 15–16, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 106 attack drones and various types of missiles. The main targets of the attack were the Kyiv, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, air defenses destroyed or intercepted three X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles and 85 drones.
Russia launched Shahed, “Gerbera,” and “Parody” drones, and also used “Onyx,” “Iskander-M,” S-400, KN-23, and X-59/69 missiles.
At the same time, hits were recorded at 13 locations, and debris from downed targets fell at three additional sites.

In Zaporizhzhia, Russian drones caused two fires on the night of August 15. Emergency responders extinguished the fires at a shopping center and a warehouse; no one was injured.
Russian forces carried out 971 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. Forty-two settlements came under fire, and two people were injured as a result of attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district. There were also 44 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
