Russia killed two people in the Kherson region and wounded nine others

Throughout August 17, Russian troops attacked the Kherson region with artillery and drones. Two people were killed and nine others were wounded in the shelling, including two police officers.

At around 5:30 a.m., Russian forces attacked the village of Novokayry with drones. Two men, aged 67 and 58, sustained fatal injuries.

Nine more people were injured in attacks by Russian drones in Kherson, Bilozerka, Novovorontsovka, and Gavrilivka. Among the wounded were two police officers.

Private homes, apartment buildings, businesses, garages, and both government and civilian vehicles were also damaged.

Law enforcement authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation into the Russian attacks as potential war crimes.

In Zaporizhzhia, on the night of August 15, Russian drones caused two fires. Firefighters extinguished the blazes at a shopping center and a warehouse; no one was injured.

Russian troops carried out 971 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Forty-two settlements came under fire, and two people were injured as a result of attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district. There were also 44 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
