Russia reported six deaths following an attack on a factory in the Kirov Region
Russian authorities reported at least six dead and 32 injured as a result of an attack on a facility in the Kirov Region of the Russian Federation. However, the officially released figures may not reflect the actual number of victims.
This was stated by Alexander Sokolov, governor of the Kirov Region. According to him, all those affected are receiving medical care. Some are undergoing outpatient treatment, while others have been hospitalized.
Sokolov also reported that the fire at the facility has already been extinguished. He said that electricity and water supplies have been restored in the area, and specialists are inspecting nearby residential buildings to assess potential damage.
In addition, the governor reiterated the ban in effect in the region on the dissemination of photos, videos, and other information about the consequences of the attacks if such materials make it possible to identify the location of the strike, the targeted facility, or the nature of the damage. The ban applies to posts on social media, in the mass media, and on other information resources.
Russian authorities cite security concerns as the reason for these restrictions. Meanwhile, Russian law enforcement agencies have previously prosecuted citizens for publishing materials from the sites of attacks. In particular, a 19-year-old woman was detained in Krasnodar after a video showing the aftermath of a drone attack on the Wildberries logistics center was found on her phone.
As of this writing, there is no independent confirmation of the number of fatalities and injuries. Russian authorities have also not disclosed detailed information about the extent of the damage to the facility.
