Factories in Samara involved in the production of missiles and aircraft components have been hit

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided further details on the consequences of the strike on industrial facilities in Samara, Russia, carried out on August 15.

According to additional information, damage has been confirmed to a production facility where engines for the “Soyuz” family of launch vehicles are assembled, as well as to an aviation maintenance facility at AviaKor Aviation Plant JSC.

A large-scale fire broke out on the grounds of the “Progress” Rocket and Space Center following the strike. The fire covered an area of approximately 5,000 square meters.

The Progress Rocket and Space Center is one of the key enterprises in the Russian rocket and space industry. It is involved in the production of “Soyuz” launch vehicles, which are used to place spacecraft into orbit and deploy the Russian Federation’s satellite communications systems.

The General Staff noted that striking such facilities reduces Russia’s military-technological capabilities.
