In Sloviansk, a teenager was injured by an unknown object
In Sloviansk, a 17-year-old boy suffered severe injuries after an unknown object he found while out for a walk exploded in his hands. The teenager was hospitalized, and doctors are fighting to save his life. This was reported by Vadym Lyakh, head of the city’s military administration, on Facebook.
According to Vadym Lyakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, the boy was walking through the city when he noticed an unknown object, picked it up, and the next moment it exploded right in his hands.
The 17-year-old victim was taken to the city clinical hospital on May 21, where he received emergency care. “He was walking down the street in Sloviansk, picked up an unknown object, and it exploded in his hands. As a result, the teenager lost his fingers,” said Vadym Lyakh.
Doctors note that the boy’s condition is critical, and his injuries are severe; in particular, he lost part of his fingers due to the explosion.
City officials emphasize that any unknown objects, even if they look safe or resemble toys, must never be touched. “It is also unacceptable to pick up metal objects or their parts whose purpose is unknown. And of course, do not touch them yourself,” noted Vadym Lyakh.
Local authorities are urging residents to be vigilant and immediately report any suspicious finds to the relevant services without putting themselves in danger.
