Russian shelling in Sloviansk damages railway station, four railway workers injured
Russian occupying forces carried out a targeted strike on railway infrastructure in the city of Sloviansk.
The consequences of this latest act of aggression were reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba.
As a result of the attack, a locomotive depot and the station building were damaged, while four railway workers sustained injuries of varying severity.
According to him, despite staff promptly taking shelter, it was not possible to avoid casualties among civilian workers.
“The enemy struck railway infrastructure in Sloviansk. As a result of the attack, facilities were damaged, including the locomotive depot, and windows in the station building were partially shattered,” the official noted.
Among the four injured depot employees, one woman is in critical condition.
All the injured were urgently hospitalised in local hospitals, where doctors are currently fighting for their lives.
The blast wave and debris caused significant damage to technical premises used for servicing rolling stock.
Damage to the station building indicates that the attackers aimed to disrupt logistics hubs in the Donetsk region as much as possible.
Earlier, Russian forces also attacked a heat supply facility in Chernihiv.
Russian forces also launched drone attacks on the Kyiv region, causing damage.
In addition, Russia attacked Ukraine with 164 drones, of which air defence systems shot down 150 UAVs.
