In Smila, Cherkasy Oblast, three people were injured following a Russian drone attack. Debris from the drones was reported to have fallen on residential areas in the city and surrounding villages. Two of the injured are in critical condition. This was reported on Telegramby Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.
On the morning of May 14, the Cherkasy region came under attack by Russian strike drones. The Smila community was hit the hardest, with drone debris falling at several locations in the city and neighboring villages.
According to Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, residential infrastructure was hit. Three people were injured by falling debris. “We have three injured: two in serious condition and one with moderate injuries. All have been taken to hospitals. They are receiving the necessary care,” Taburets said.
Rescue workers, medical personnel, and law enforcement officers are currently on the scene. Experts continue to survey the area and verify information regarding possible new damage.
The regional governor also warned that the danger to the region has not yet passed. According to him, the threat of attack drones remains in the Uman district. “Cherkasy region has been on high alert since early this morning. In particular, our Smila community has come under enemy fire,” Taburets noted.
Local residents are urged not to ignore air raid sirens and to remain in shelters in case of a new threat.
