In Zaporizhzhia, air raid alerts due to Russian attacks last up to 22 hours a day

In Zaporizhzhia, air raid alerts due to Russian attacks last up to 22 hours a day

In Zaporizhzhia, air raid sirens sound for an average of more than 15 hours a day, and on some days—up to 20–22 hours. Russian troops continue their shelling and are increasingly targeting crowded areas and gas stations.

“The air raid siren sounds for more than 15 hours a day on average, and sometimes as long as 20–22 hours.

The enemy continues to exert pressure and inflict damage,” Fedorov emphasized.

According to him, the Russian occupiers have identified two main targets: areas where civilians gather and gas stations.

“We understand that every day the enemy tries to target gas stations with drones of various types, ranging from FPV drones to ‘Shaheds,’ which it used to attack a gas station last night. The enemy’s goal is to sow panic,” the regional governor explained.

At the same time, he emphasized that Russian troops are failing to achieve their goal, and Zaporizhzhia residents have begun to pay closer attention to reports of enemy drone movements on specialized Telegram channels.

To enhance security at gas stations, regional authorities held talks with the owners of all gas station chains. Under the terms of the agreements, gas tanks must be provided with additional protection, retail areas must be reinforced with gabions, and in the event of an air threat, staff and visitors must be evacuated immediately.

Ivan Fedorov also recalled that the previous evening, Russian troops attacked one of Zaporizhzhia’s gas stations with two “Shahed” kamikaze drones. One drone was shot down by air defense forces, but the second struck the gas station within seconds. One person was killed in the attack.

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia and the region has claimed the lives of six people this week alone, with another 99 injured. Currently, 67 victims ranging in age from 5 to 91, including six children, are being treated at the city’s medical facilities.

This was reported by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, during a televised marathon.

As a reminder, an explosion was recorded in Chernihiv amid the threat of an enemy drone strike. The day before, Russian troops attacked infrastructure facilities in the Chernihiv region, including gas stations, water supply systems, power facilities, and industrial enterprises.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 1,038 strikes on 49 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the enemy attacks, one person was killed and 12 others were wounded in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.

Over the past day, Russian troops shelled 44 settlements in the Kherson region. As a result of the attacks, three people were killed and another 34 were wounded; among the casualties were three children.

Since the evening of July 9, Russian troops have carried out nearly ten strikes on three districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The shelling damaged a business and a gas station, and one person was injured.

Russian forces struck Kharkiv and the surrounding region; four children were among the injured.

In the Odesa region, a fire broke out at a factory following a Russian attack.
