Ukrainian Forces Confirm Strike on Russian Air Defense Facility in Sevastopol

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have confirmed a strike on a Russian air defense enterprise in Sevastopol overnight on March 19.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, an innovation center at the Granit production and technical enterprise—part of the Almaz-Antey defense concern—was hit. The site is used to repair and maintain Russian air defense systems.

The Ukrainian Navy said on Facebook that its forces, in coordination with Special Operations Forces and Unmanned Systems Forces units, carried out successful strikes on military targets in Sevastopol, in temporarily occupied Crimea.

As a result of the operation, the innovation center of the Granit enterprise near Fiolent Highway was struck. The facility is part of the Almaz-Antey concern, where Russian air defense systems are repaired and maintained.

In particular, the concern maintains equipment forming the backbone of the air defense “shield” of occupied Crimea. The facility frequently repairs S-400 “Triumf” and S-300PM2 “Favorit” surface-to-air missile systems, as well as 92N6E and 96L6E radar systems, and medium- and short-range systems such as the Buk-M2/M3 and Tor-M2.

Additionally, positions of enemy personnel in the area of Streletskaya Bay were also struck.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces eliminated another 1,520 Russian troops over the past 24 hours.

On March 18, a total of 215 combat engagements took place along the front line between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian troops. The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy launched 49 attacks. Ukrainian forces reportedly eliminated more than 160 Russian troops in that sector.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces also regained positions near Berezove in the Dnipropetrovsk region and pushed back Russian forces.
