UAF explains how Russia kidnapped civilians from the village of Hrabovske
The evening breakthrough of Russian infantry into the border village of Hrabovske ended with the forced displacement of more than 50 Ukrainian civilians. The occupiers used the local church as a gathering point, after which they led the people on foot into Russian territory.
This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Group, on Ranok.LIVE.
Most of the residents who remained in the village are elderly people who had previously refused written evacuation orders to safe regions of Ukraine. Although the operation lasted only a few hours, it represents yet another act of forced deportation of civilians, which constitutes a serious violation of international law.
Authorities are currently investigating all circumstances of the incident and the exact number of civilians taken.
The border breach near Hrabovske, Sumy Region, was caused by the irresponsible conduct of soldiers assigned to that area.
The events in Hrabovske on the night of December 20, 2025, when Russian forces crossed the state border and forcibly removed over 50 Ukrainian civilians to Russia, appear to have the characteristics of a local provocation.
