The Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russian troops have not advanced in Vovchansk and Synkivka

The Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russian troops have not advanced in Vovchansk and Synkivka, despite claims made by the Russian Federation. Ukrainian forces are holding their positions and repelling attacks in several directions in the Kharkiv region. Enemy assault groups are sustaining losses and failing to achieve results. This was reported by the press service of the Joint Forces grouping.

The statement emphasises that the situation in the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction remains difficult but under control. Russian units attempted to attack Ukrainian positions simultaneously in several areas — towards Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Zybyne, and Okhrimivka.

“Enemy assault groups have been struck. In Vovchansk, the enemy continues attempts to break through the defence — our soldiers are holding their positions. Claims of advances in Vovchansk and Synkivka are untrue,” the military command reported.

According to the military, fighting in the Vovchansk area is ongoing, but there has been no breakthrough. Russian forces are attempting to apply pressure through numerical superiority and periodically launch assaults in small groups; however, these attempts end in losses and withdrawal.

In the Velykyi Burluk direction, the situation has not changed significantly. At the same time, Ukrainian forces are recording a build-up of Russian troops. This may indicate preparations for new attacks in the near future.

Separately, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the situation in the Kupiansk direction. There, Russian troops attempted to break through the defence towards Borivska Andriivka, Kupiansk, Novoplatonivka, and Kivsharivka. All of these attempts were unsuccessful.

Ukrainian units repelled the attacks and prevented any advance by the enemy. Fighting also continued in the Lyman direction. Russian forces attempted to storm positions in the areas of Serednie, Stavky, Shyikivka, and Dibrova. “All enemy assault actions were repelled,” the military stated.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasise that, despite constant pressure, Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions. Information about alleged successes of the Russian army in these sectors of the front does not correspond to reality.

The military stress that the situation remains tense but under control. Ukrainian defence forces continue to contain the enemy and inflict losses on them.

It was also reported that the occupying forces will deploy all mobilised personnel from Crimea into combat starting from 1 April.

As a reminder, Russian occupying forces have been killing one another due to a lack of communication at their positions.

They also carried out drone attacks on residential buildings and a port in the Odesa region.
