Ukraine is ready for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin in any country except Russia and Belarus, says Sibiga
Ukraine would agree to a potential meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin in any country other than Russia or Belarus.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga during a conversation with journalists.
According to him, Kyiv supports the idea of organizing such a meeting, as it could provide “new momentum” to the peace talks.
“We have asked the Turks about this, we have asked certain other capitals… But if a capital other than Moscow or Belarus organizes such a meeting, we will go. And this is important to us,” Sybiga said.
He emphasized that Ukraine is open to diplomatic formats that could help advance the negotiation process.
Previously, Ukraine had expressed its readiness to hold a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Turkey, but with the participation of two other world leaders.
Prior to this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the temporary suspension of trilateral talks involving the U.S. and Russia due to a shift in Washington’s foreign policy priorities.
