Ukraine may have used its own ballistic missile for the first time — Bloomberg

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that its air defense systems had allegedly intercepted a “long-range operational-tactical missile.”

This report led Bloomberg analysts to speculate that Ukraine may have used a domestically produced ballistic missile to strike targets for the first time.

In its report, the Russian military did not provide any additional details or specify the type of weapon used.

Official Kyiv has not yet confirmed reports of the use of ballistic missiles in combat.

The situation drew the attention of experts following the public announcement by the Ukrainian company Fire Point of its plans to conduct flight tests of the new FP-9 missile.

Back in June, the company’s chief designer, Denis Shtilerman, stated that testing of the weapon could begin in the summer or early fall.

According to the developers, the FP-9 missile is designed to strike deep into Russian territory at a range of about 850 km. A key milestone in the weapon’s development was the completion of work on the engine, which allows the project to be prepared for actual launches.

If Ukraine’s actual use of the ballistic missile is confirmed, it will mark a new phase in Kyiv’s strategy to expand its long-range strike capabilities.

Due to their high flight speed, such missiles significantly reduce the time the enemy has to react and make them much more difficult for air defense systems to intercept.

This was reported by Bloomberg.

During the Russian attack, drone debris fell in two districts of Kyiv: Klitschko provided details

Over the past 24 hours in Zaporizhzhia, 2 people were killed and 36 wounded as a result of Russian attacks.

Russia attacked Ukraine with 151 drones and a missile; air defense systems neutralized over 130 targets

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian troops attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
