Ukraine outlines its ‘Red Lines’ in Peace Talks
Ukraine has categorically rejected any recognition of Russia’s occupation of its territories and insisted on the immutability of the Constitution in a potential peace agreement.
This firm position was voiced by Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Oleksandr Bevz, in an interview with Radio Liberty.
He stressed that “Ukraine will not accept any recognition; no changes will be made to the Constitution,” calling these “red lines” clearly defined by the Ukrainian people.
Bevz also emphasized that the territorial integrity of the state holds exclusive status and cannot be the subject of bargaining or compromise. He noted that any attempts to change this principle are unacceptable and will not be considered by Ukraine’s official authorities.
According to him, the key provisions of the US peace plan, which include sensitive issues, should be discussed directly between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is worth recalling that the 28-point US peace plan was based on a Russian document.
The plan has also caused confusion and division within the White House.
