Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed an occupiers' pontoon bridge in the Sloviansk area
Ukrainian defense forces successfully thwarted yet another attempt by Russian troops to cross the Bakhmutka River, destroying the enemy’s crossing before it could be put into use.
This was officially reported by the press service of the “Apachi” Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 81st Separate Airborne Slobozhansky Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is holding the defense on this section of the front.
In the Sloviansk direction, the situation remains extremely tense, as the enemy continues to attempt advances using infiltration tactics with small infantry groups.
Russian troops are attempting to quickly erect pontoon bridges across water obstacles, but Ukrainian intelligence detects the preparatory work in time, and drone operators deliver precision strikes.
“Our intelligence detects them in a timely manner, and Apache pilots destroy the bridges before the Russians have a chance to use them,” the military emphasizes in its report.
In addition to crossings, Ukrainian defenders systematically eliminate any shelters and hiding places the enemy sets up to protect against strike drones and adverse weather conditions.
An important aspect of the current conflict in this area has been the fight against Russian FPV drones, which use fiber-optic control and backup power.
The enemy employs this technological solution to attempt to disrupt Ukrainian logistics, as such drones are resistant to standard electronic warfare measures.
To counter this threat, the “Apachi” unit uses powerful hexacopters that track down and destroy enemy drones while they are still in the air or at their launch sites.
Military officials emphasize that the Sloviansk sector is currently one of the hottest spots on the front line, where fierce clashes occur daily for every meter of Ukrainian territory.
As a reminder, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 9 settlements.
Additionally, the enemy fired on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 49 times over the past 24 hours.
