Russians are handing out Ukrainian land to those who fought in the war against Ukraine

In the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupation administration has begun transferring land plots to participants in the war against Ukraine, whom the Russian Federation refers to as participants in the so-called “special military operation.”

The Center for National Resistance stated that in this way, the Kremlin is attempting to consolidate its presence in the seized Ukrainian territories. The Russian authorities are effectively using Ukrainian land to reward military personnel who participated in the war against Ukraine.

According to the National Resistance Center, this policy is part of the occupation administration’s attempt to tighten control over the temporarily occupied districts of the Zaporizhzhia region and to tie Russian military personnel to those areas.

Officially, this program is presented as “social support for veterans.” At the same time, the National Resistance Center emphasizes that this is, in fact, an illegal disposition of Ukrainian land that is under temporary occupation.

According to the Center for National Resistance, the distribution of land is not only a means of providing material incentives to Russian military personnel who participated in the war against Ukraine but also part of a policy to populate the occupied territories with people loyal to the Kremlin.

The National Resistance Center notes that such actions are part of Russia’s strategy to alter the demographic composition of the population in the temporarily occupied territories and an attempt to consolidate the occupation regime there.

According to a report citing the Center for National Resistance, the occupying authorities are already compiling a list of land plots and establishing waiting lists for their allocation.
