Ukrainian forces have surrounded a small group of invaders in Kupiansk
Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Operational Support Directorate, reported that Russian troops had been successfully isolated under the ruins of a hospital in Kupiansk.
According to him, this group of occupiers does not pose a serious threat to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as it is effectively surrounded. Despite this, Russia continues to exert significant pressure in the Kupiansk direction, attempting to break through the Ukrainian defensive line near several settlements.
The situation on the front remains tense in the Lyman sector and in the border areas of Sumy Oblast, where the enemy is attempting to expand its captured territories. According to available information, the group of approximately twenty Russian soldiers surrounded in Kupiansk has been isolated for about three months, and their supplies are delivered exclusively by air. Despite claims by some Russian sources that all those surrounded have been killed, the Defense Forces confirm the presence of occupiers in the city. Currently, Ukrainian units are keeping the situation under control, despite attempts by the Russian Federation to advance in the areas of Synkivka and Vovchansk.
As a reminder, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian mechanized assault and destroyed enemy equipment.
Additionally, the Armed Forces’ counterattacks are forcing Russia to change its offensive plans.
