The Ukrainian RAM-2X was unveiled to the public for the first time

The Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems has officially unveiled the RAM-2X loitering munition, featuring an unusual X-shaped wing, for the first time. The drone has been in use on the front lines for about two years, and the Ukrainian military has confirmed more than 410 strikes against Russian air defense targets.

Ukrspecsystems officially unveiled the RAM-2X—a loitering munition with an X-shaped wing. Previously, clues about this system could be gleaned from combat footage and charity events, but the drone itself had not been publicly shown for a long time due to security restrictions. Now the company has decided to partially lift this veil of secrecy. Along with the unveiling of the RAM-2X, Ukrspecsystems published photos of the new system and shared details on its performance.

According to the developers, the RAM-2X is not a new system that is merely being prepared for testing. The munition is already well known to the Ukrainian military and is in use by units of the Defense Forces. The company noted that between 2024 and 2026, systems from the RAM family were used to strike thousands of Russian targets.

One of the main targets was Russian air defense

Ukrspecsystems placed particular emphasis on countering Russian air defense. According to the company, Ukrainian units destroyed and damaged various components of Russian air defense systems. Targets included launchers, radar stations, reloaders, and command posts. “Between 2024 and 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, armed with loitering munitions from the RAM family, struck thousands of enemy targets,” Ukrspecsystems reported.

According to the developers, dozens of Ukrainian units carried out missions to destroy Russian air defense systems. In total, the company cites more than 410 confirmed strikes specifically against air defense targets. Each of these incidents, the company notes, was captured on video.

Why the RAM-2X Is Only Being Revealed Now

The RAM-2X has been in the public eye for quite some time, but without an official reveal of the system itself. For two years, the drone was mentioned in fundraising campaigns organized by various foundations for the Ukrainian military. In addition, videos of its combat operations appeared online.

However, for security reasons, the system’s name and appearance were not disclosed. This helped prevent the enemy from gaining unnecessary information about Ukrainian weaponry and its use. Now, the decision has been made to release some of this material.

Ukrspecsystems has launched the X-Archive

Along with the presentation of the RAM-2X, the company launched its own X-Archive. This is a special collection of previously classified videos showing Russian targets being destroyed using RAM systems. The footage for the archive was provided by the Ukrainian military itself. They also granted permission to release the videos after the relevant restrictions were lifted.

The company explains that its goal is to demonstrate the actual results achieved by Ukrainian units using RAM. “The footage was provided by the military itself, and they also gave permission to lift the classification,” Ukrspecsystems noted. However, the release of the archive does not mean that the company is disclosing all the system’s specifications or details of its combat use. Some information may remain classified for security reasons.

What Is Known About the RAM-2X

The RAM-2X belongs to the class of loitering munitions. Such drones can remain airborne in the mission area and then attack a designated target. One of the most distinctive features of the RAM-2X is its X-shaped wing. It is this design that sets the drone apart from many other Ukrainian loitering munitions.

Ukrspecsystems did not disclose all of the RAM-2X’s technical specifications during the public presentation. This applies, in particular, to details that could be relevant to the system’s combat use. At the same time, the company emphasizes another point—the drone has already been battle-tested. Its effectiveness is confirmed by video footage of combat operations, which is now gradually becoming available.

Thus, the RAM-2X was presented not merely as a new Ukrainian development, but as a system that has already been used by the Armed Forces and has proven results on the front lines. This was reported by the company’s press service.

Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region with FPV drones. As a result of the strikes, a 34-year-old man was killed, and another person was injured.

On September 9, Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv–Izyum train with a “Shahed” drone. Six people were injured as a result of the strike, according to the Izyum City Military Administration.

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.

Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
