The Russian frigate Admiral Essen was struck by a Neptune missile

Ukrainian forces struck the missile frigate “Admiral Essen” in Novorossiysk with a cruise anti-ship missile from the “Neptune” system.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, on the night of September 9, the Ukrainian Navy, in coordination with other components of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, struck Russian military infrastructure in Novorossiysk. During the attack, Ukrainian sailors hit the Russian frigate “Admiral Essen”—which carries “Kalibr” cruise missiles—with a “Neptune” missile.

The command noted that every such target struck helps save the lives of Ukrainian civilians. The Defense Forces continue to systematically reduce the combat capabilities of the Russian fleet, forcing it to retreat further from the Ukrainian coast.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy on Facebook.

Earlier reports indicated that a fire broke out on the deck superstructure of the frigate “Admiral Essen” as a result of precision strikes. The ship carries “Kalibr” cruise missiles, which the aggressor state constantly uses to strike Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
