In Khmelnytskyi, a secondary explosion occurred following a Russian attack; rescue workers were injured
On the evening of September 9, Russian troops attacked Khmelnytskyi. After debris from a downed aircraft fell onto the grounds of one of the markets, a fire broke out, and a secondary explosion occurred while rescue workers were on the scene. Four State Emergency Service employees were injured in the explosion.
According to Serhiy Tyurin, air defense forces shot down an aerial target during the Russian attack.
Afterward, debris was observed falling onto the grounds of one of the markets in Khmelnytskyi, where a fire broke out.
State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and address the aftermath of the attack.
While the State Emergency Service was deploying its personnel and equipment at the scene, a secondary explosion occurred.
“While State Emergency Service personnel and equipment were being deployed at the scene, a secondary explosion occurred. Four rescue workers were injured in the blast: they were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. The fire was extinguished,” the State Emergency Service reported.
Thus, four rescue workers were injured and hospitalized. Their condition depends on the nature of their injuries and is currently being assessed.
At the same time, the fire on the market grounds was successfully extinguished.
Rescuers continue to work at the scene and deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack.

In addition, the enemy launched strikes on the Kholodnohirskyi, Kyivskyi, and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling, a hit on an apartment building was recorded, and two people were injured.
In Khmelnytskyi, a fire broke out at one of the city’s markets following yet another drone attack. Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn reported that information regarding possible casualties is currently being verified.
On the night of September 9–10, Russian troops attacked Kryvyi Rih with strike drones. The enemy attack caused fires and damage in the Central City and Saksagansk districts of the city. As of 6:44 a.m., five casualties have been reported.
In Novy Urengoy, Russia, authorities reported that a gas condensate processing plant had been hit. Following this, the Ukrainian company Fire Point published a cryptic statement about drones that allegedly traveled over 3,300 km and struck the target.
