Zelenskyy discusses air defense and winter preparations with Iceland’s foreign minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir during a stopover in Iceland en route to Canada. They discussed Ukraine’s preparations for the winter period, protection of the energy sector and strengthening air defense.
Energy protection
As Anadolu Agency reports, Zelenskyy spoke about the meeting on Telegram. According to him, Ukraine is counting on further cooperation with Iceland and its contributions to the Energy Support Fund.

The president stated that the assistance Iceland has already provided has produced “concrete results.” He also thanked Iceland for its support of Ukraine’s energy sector.
Technological and defense cooperation
The sides also discussed technological and defense cooperation. Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to share its own experience with partners in these areas.
