The number of casualties from Russian attacks has risen in Odesa and Kharkiv
At least 49 people were injured as a result of Russian attacks on Odesa and Kharkiv during the night and morning of August 9. One fatality has also been confirmed in one of the cities.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration; Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv; and the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
In Odesa and the surrounding region, the number of people injured as a result of the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack rose to 12. According to Kipper, 11 of the injured were hospitalized with moderate injuries. Another victim received outpatient medical care.
The head of the Regional State Administration urged residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to remain in shelters until the official all-clear is given.
Meanwhile, during the day, Russian troops again attempted to attack Odesa. At 12:55 p.m., the city and the region came under enemy fire, while air defense systems were active.
In Kharkiv, the number of people injured in the morning’s Russian shelling rose to 37. One fatality has also been confirmed.
However, reports of a second fatality, which had been previously reported, were not confirmed. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, both reports referred to the same deceased person—a man.
This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration and the mayor of Kharkiv on Telegram.
As a reminder, the number of people injured in the strike on Kharkiv has risen to 27.
On the night of August 9, Russian forces carried out a combined attack on Odesa using strike drones and ballistic missiles, resulting in at least six people being injured.
