Video: Russians used KAB bombs to reduce part of a village in the Zaporizhzhia region to ruins overnight
On August 15, details emerged about the aftermath of a Russian strike on Novoivanivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, where residential buildings were destroyed by KAB bombs. Police officers and chaplains evacuated five local residents who had lost their homes.
“The Russians destroyed nearly half the village with KAB bombs: police evacuated five homeowners whose houses were destroyed overnight from Novoivanivka,” the report states.
The police released a video showing the aftermath of yet another Russian attack on the Komyshuvakha community.
As noted, those evacuated are mostly elderly people who, as a result of the shelling, lost not only their normal way of life but also, in effect, a part of their lives in a short period of time.
Police officers and chaplains transported three women and two men to a transit center in Zaporizhzhia, where they will be helped to find new shelter. They are taking almost nothing with them—all their possessions were left under the rubble of the destroyed houses.
According to the police, some locals still remain in the village. One of the women cannot leave her small herd of goats behind, while another is caring for forty Vietnamese-breed piglets. And yet—everyone clings to the home where they have spent their entire lives.
The police added that for residents of the Zaporizhzhia region, every evacuation is a painful decision driven by fear and danger. At the same time, it is their only chance for survival and a future life in relative safety.
Police are asking residents not to delay their departure; they should call 102 or contact local authorities or law enforcement officials.
