The release of Shandrigolov and Drobyshev has strengthened the defenses of Lyman – Butusov
The liberation of the villages of Shandryholove and Drobysheve allowed Ukrainian forces to fully regain control of a key area that protects the approaches to the Liman. This was stated by Yuriy Butusov, commander of the UAV company of the 23rd Assault Regiment, part of the National Guard’s 2nd Corps “Charter.”
According to him, these settlements are located on the final ridge of hills that shields the city. Earlier this year, Russian forces managed to capture almost all of Shandryholove and a significant part of Drobysheve; however, following a swift counterattack by Ukrainian forces, control over them has been fully restored.
Butusov emphasized that thanks to the successful actions of the Third Corps, this key defensive area is currently in the hands of the Ukrainian military.
