“Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez” is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, with a designed refining capacity of approximately 17 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The facility plays a critical role in supplying fuel and lubricants to the Russian economy and units of the occupying forces, specializing in the production of diesel and jet fuel, as well as automotive gasoline.
Striking the facilities of this complex creates an additional shortage and places a significant strain on the enemy’s logistics and fuel supply system. The attack is currently ongoing; the detailed consequences and extent of damage to the production equipment are being assessed.
